We'd like to join you!
The third wave of the Wellcome’s Climate Impact Awards funding is open – and we’re interested in joining an existing consortium who are looking for the final piece of the jigsaw – expertise in climate storytelling.
The deadline to bid for new project funding to work on “Unlocking urgent climate action by making the health effects of climate change visible” is 30 April 2025.
If you want to improve the public engagement aspect of your research bid, particularly if you’re thinking of using storytelling or visuals, do get in touch. It’s not too late to make use of our 20 years working in this space!
We’re experts in public engagement on climate change, using evidence and storytelling to bring people into meaningful climate and energy conversations. We move climate from the abstract to the specific, connecting it to people’s diverse lives, values and worldviews.
We’re also experts in generating narrative frameworks, which are context-specific. Our sector-leading Britain Talks Climate research and toolkit and our unique Climate Visuals project are just two examples of our work. And we’ve regularly had the privilege of collaborating on research consortia before, including as impact partners for CAST, the Centre for Climate and Social Transformations.
Why join the Climate Outreach team?
We are committed to improving our diversity and inclusion practices and policies. We take part in The RACE Report (Racial Action for the Climate Emergency), which exists to speed up diversity and inclusion to deliver on climate justice in the environment sector. See our RACE report transparency card for 2023, and read this piece for some reflections on our journey towards being an anti-racist organisation.
For most of our roles, we use the BeApplied recruitment platform, which aims to overcome unconscious bias in recruiting.
If you work with us, you’ll benefit from:
- Defined Contribution Pension Scheme where Climate Outreach will match contributions up to 5%
- Employee Assistance Program – a confidential service that provides support and guidance with any personal or professional problems that may affect your overall health and wellbeing
- Cycle To Work scheme
- Flexible working policy
- Enhanced parental leave pay
- 33 days annual leave (this includes bank holidays, which can be worked and taken as leave on other days)
- Office closed for 3 days over the Christmas and New Year period
- Training and personal professional development support
