In September 2017, George Marshall was invited to speak at Expo 17 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

His speaking engagements included a workshop and a panel discussion, both on the topic of how to more effectively communicate about climate change. While he was there, he also took the opportunity to report on the overall event.

In this video, he highlights the new positive story about renewable energy emerging from the event, but also points to the missing stories of Expo17: where was climate change? and where was civil society?
