Egypt, which hosted the recent COP27 conference, has a strong, vibrant and complex network of civil society organisations (CSOs). However, many smaller and rural CSOs are structurally excluded from conversations about climate change and from vital funding for public engagement.
In collaboration with Climate Outreach, our longstanding Egyptian civil society partner Greenish has released a report which maps these small and regional CSOs and identifies their potential to engage people on climate change. The report presents the barriers faced by Egyptian CSOs and outlines how governments, funders and CSOs can counter those challenges and build a foundation for a strong Egyptian climate engagement ecosystem.
